The Church continues Christ’s work of healing and salvation in the power of the Holy Spirit and calls us to continual conversion through Reconciliation. The beauty of this sacrament is that we obtain forgiveness for our sins through the generous outpouring of God’s mercy. It is this gift which gives us new strength and resolve to continue to live our lives in love and a deeper union in Christ.
Confessions are heard every Saturday from 4 – 4:45pm in the church. Penitential services are also held twice a year before Easter and Christmas.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I prepare for
Reconciliation as an adult? If you have not been baptized, or have been baptized but did not complete your initiation into the church through the sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and Eucharist, you are welcome to join the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. It begins each year in September and ends in May.
How can I prepare my child for Reconciliation?
Your child prepares for Reconciliation when he or she prepares to receive First Communion. This is usually at the age of 8. If your baptized child is in a Catholic school, he or she will automatically be prepared for it unless you decide otherwise. If your child did not receive these sacraments in Grade 2, you should let the teacher know.
For children who are not in Catholic schools PREP classes are held each week. Your child must have attended at least two years of PREP before they can receive the Sacraments.
